We read from Schoenstatt's history:
During the 1930’s the Nazis began to scrutinize the activities of the Schoenstatt Movement. They decided that whoever was won over to Schoenstatt was lost to National Socialism. In 1941 Fr. Kentenich was arrested by the Gestapo and sent to the Dachau concentration camp for four years. On January 20th 1942 he freely decided to go to the concentration camp near Munich.

"She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn" Lk. 2:8

The year of 2008 has been one of growth and new initiatives through the Rosary Campaign and many other apostolates such as Operation Mario, our project to reach out to college students at UT and Annunciation-Austin. For 2009 we wish to continue reaching out and offer many more opportunities to get to know our Schoenstatt Movement here in Central Texas.

We ask you to keep Schoenstatt in your prayers this Christmas Season and would like to take this time to graciously thank our benefactors who have contributed financially this past year. It is because of your generosity that we have been able to operate our center at Addie Roy and minister to all those who come in contact with our Movement.

In the present state of the economy, we know it can be tempting to omit “extra” contributions from your budget. However, please consider supporting your Schoenstatt Movement in Austin financially in 2009. We invite you to do so by using the "Donate" section on the rignt menu of this website. You can also send your contribution by mail to our address. Through your charitable giving, we are able to reach and transform the hearts of many, bringing them closer to Jesus and Mary .

Let us together continue imploring the gifts and graces of Bethlehem, of the Holy Family, for our small Schoenstatt Family in Austin. May Christ bless you and your families this Christmas! It is our hope that the humble example of our Lord in the manger will guide us all in the coming year.

With great joy we want to announce that on December the 18th we have reached our goal of 18,000 and gone beyond with 21,900 Hail Marys counted. We will present our Capital of Grace as a Family for the future Shrine as a Christmas Gift to Jesus and Mary. Come and share the joy at our Covenant Celebration!
