Our Lenten COG for the Shrine

Dear Schoenstatt Family of Austin:

We would like to share with you the joy of a positive meeting with the Home Owners Association to which the Addie Roy property is connected to. Your Hail Mary's for this particualr intention have been heard.

Today, as the Schoenstatt family of Austin, we want to offer this new prayer for our Shrine, in the spirit of Lenten sacrifice and a renewed call to inner transformation. In this crucial time in the history of the Schoenstatt Movement in Austin and especially in our family, we want to strive together for a Shrine first through the transformation of each of our own heartshrines. Let us unite the Family and Branches by offering our contrite hearts to God as a birth place, a Bethlehem, for His Son, so that God may too ready us to build our own Bethlehem, Cradle of Sanctity Shrine.

Below is a prayer composed by members of each branch of the family. As we let Christ conquer our hearts by bonding us more deeply to the Shrines with each visit we make (to Lamar, to San Antonio, to our Wayside Shrine at Addie Roy and our home shrines), we will offer this prayer, and offer our visits to the Shrines as Capital of Grace for the next steps towards our Shrine in Austin. There will also be a physical place at the Movement's Center where you can deposit your COG.

Lenten Capital of Grace prayer for our Cradle of Sanctity Shrine:

Dear Blessed Mother:

May Christ be born in my heart this Lenten season,
and convert it to His will.
May He too be born here, in Austin,
transforming it into His new Bethlehem,
His Cradle of Sanctity.

Amen.

In Victorious Confidence, Rejoice and Go Forth!

January 18th, 2009

Dear Schoenstatt Family of Austin:

The Confidentia Shrine in Lamar, Texas will be celebrating its 50th Jubilee Festival on October 18th, 2009. As a gift to the Shrine in this Jubilee Year, the Movement, in the various Texas dioceses, will contribute in the works of renovation of the Shrine. In order to give our beloved Shrine the tender loving care that it needs, the different dioceses of Texas are being asked to raise funds towards the following items:

Austin - carpet for the altar
Brownsville - painting the walls inside and out
Corpus Christi - tile for the floor in the Shrine
Dallas/Fort Worth - upholstery for the pews
Houston - door for the Shrine
San Antonio - Altar needs to be worked over

An amount of $1000.00 was estimated for each of the different items needed. Please help honor our Mother Thrice Admirable and her Holy Son, in the Tabernacle, with a beautiful new carpet at their feet.

The Diocesan Committee of the Movement in Austin has entrusted the Mothers Branch to coordinate this initiative. Your loving donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your generosity! Nothing Without You, Nothing Without Us.
